was born in the early 1960's and though I have attended Art Schools I am self-taught. I began by drawing animated cartoons and comicbook heroes. Later I studied anatomy from medical reference books, and paintings by Italian master's.

In my teens I broke away from Classical styles, and imagery and began to explore Modern Art. French Impressionism captured me, and I created my own worlds full of color and energy from the streets of Washington, DC and Atlantic City.

After my interest in Impressionism faded, I embraced Cubism. It's roots are in Africa. Primarily in wood carvings and masks.

I also was captivated by the graceful lines of Art Deco.

I equate the minimalist lines in which you might find in a Japanese print to that of a Gesture drawing or Caricature. The latter two have a base in Cubism for the purpose of each is to reduce/depict the subject down to as few lines as possible, thereby condensing or cubing it.

The purpose of Cubism is to relate to the viewer as much information about the subject within one work.

It is like a Logo which conjures an image in the viewers mind at first glance and causes you to feel you have added insight into a heartless, and souless corporate entity.

All drawings whether simplistic or complex in nature can be called Cartoons.

All you need do is apply flat color.

I enjoy creating new styles. I want to see new things and record the information as quickly as possible. I work with Models as often as possible. Even if I don't depict them Classically, something real comes through. Sometimes it' s just good to have someone around to bounce your thoughts off of.

My style is a blend of Deco and Cubism mostly, then I add touches of other elements by chosing good subjects to paint. The physical presence of the pieces are almost symbolic of themes rather than the actual models, Like those titanic Soviet figure paintings you used to see plastered all over Red Square footage on the news. They're so immense in form/stature that they are as impactful as Caricatures.

I love it all.

It's all Art.
