Karl Mann
My name is Karl Mann , I'm 40 years of age and was born in Germany .I've always loved the landscape we all see, I've seen all types of landscape where the best I saw was in Bavaria, but I was only a little boy then and didn't know anything about cameras.
My first camera was Praktika B100 in 1986 and eventually I bought a Praktika BC1. Eventually I exchanged these two cameras for a Nikon F301, which was excellent to use. I then had a try at Medium Format and got myself a Mamiya C220 PRO with a standard 80mm lens and a 55mm wide angle lens. Sadly I parted with both of these cameras and eventually I was using a Minolta 5xi and a 7xi.
Today I now use digital, and probably wouldn't go back to film cameras again, because there's so much more options for better photos. I now have a very good balance of flash to daylight when taking shots of macro instead of all that guess work and wasted film.
I've been inspired by photographers such as Ansel Adams, Charlie Waite and Martin Henson who has opened my eyes to create professional looking images. I've learnt how to work with Adobe Photoshop like I never thought I would. I know and hope one day that we will see a book on the shelves where not just photographers can see Martin's stunning mono work but the general public can too. I myself have found a style that works for me and that is photographing objects and turning them into a fine art style.
I now have a growing collection of colour and mono, but my main Style's of work are landscape, black & white and macro.
