Kelly Egbert was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1964. Kelly's love for photography started at an early age and soon became a passion. His ability to capture the beauty of even the most mundane of subjects is where his talent lies, seeing things that most people would not. Raised near the mountains of Utah, as a child he was indoctrinated into the full spectrum of outdoor activities with his family. It was from those experiences that he developed an appreciation for the outdoors and nature. Kelly's father, an established artist and wood carver, has installed in him the ability to develop and express his creativity. Although an amateur and mostly self-taught, he has studied at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, the Salt Lake Art Institute and has studied numerous books on varied photographic subjects.
Still residing in Utah, he has been creating beautiful and touching photographs for over 25 years. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States, particularly throughout the west, and has traveled internationally as well. Rarely does he leave home without camera in hand.
His photos reflect his love for beauty and life. He captures the true essence of his subject and transforms that into beautiful images. With no particular specialization, Kelly works with all types of subjects including nature and landscape photography, portraiture, still life and digital abstractions.
Kelly works primarily with 35mm and medium format transparencies, high-resolution digital imagery and has recently begun experimenting in different forms of digital image manipulation. All of the images displayed on this site are entirely digital.
