Mr. Leavitt is a distinguished photographer whose work is represented in museums across the country and the Vatican collection in Rome. He has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, is in Kodak's Encyclopaedia of Photography and been on assignment for numerous national magazines including National Geographic, Look and Life.

Fred Leavitt is the first photographer to be awarded a commission by The Chicago Council on Fine Art to produce a photographic essay for permanent exhibit in a municipal building. He currently has two traveling museum exhibits of his prints.

Fred has three books out of his work, Fred Leavitt's Chicago, Pullman Portrait of a Landmark Community, and Lies People Believe About Animals. He has won many awards from numerous art groups.

Born in Chicago, Fred studied photography in Germany in the sixties. He traveled throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Orient producing photographic essays.

In the past two years Mr. Leavitt has become interested in the artistic potential of applying digital technology to photography. He uses his own photographs as a starting point and then adds another dimension by using a computer and his imagination to manipulate the digitized photographs into a new art form.

Fred and his wife Gail have recently moved to Sebring after travelling the country in their motor home.

Mr. Leavitt is represented exclusively by Animal Ark Productions,
