Fine Art Photographer

Advertising major photography student at Brooks Institute of Photography. While my classes here deal with advertising, my true passion is black and white large format landscapes. I now realize that I am at least trying to follow in the footsteps of Ansel Adams. I enjoy going out in the wilderness where I feel small surrounded by mammoth endless landscapes. I have been traveling about for only a few years, but I have created a good handful of images I feel very proud of.

I was born in 1983 in Orange County, California. At the age of three, I moved to north Idaho and I have been there since. I received my first 35mm SLR while I was in 7th grade. Living in north Idaho, an abundance of wildlife filled my backyard every day. Since day one, I have photographed nature and wildlife.

While in high school, I was the photography teacher's TA for my junior and senior year. My high school years allowed me to spend many hours in the darkroom and find my other hidden passion-black and white photography. I was accepted to Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA, a day before the first day of my senior year. I will recieve my BA from Brooks Institute in July 2005.

Artist Statment

“Digital is just digital,” it is not to be confused with traditional optical photography. “The more Commercial becomes digital, the more optical will become art!” I am deeply committed to keeping the past alive and using only traditional photographic processes. All of my images were captured on film, processed and printed optically by hand. You must insist on the same for all of your images. I hope you enjoy my work.
