Deland,Florida - August 30th, 2002 - . PixiPort Productions and Gold Leaf Gallery & Framing announced today that they will jointly host a special gallery exhibition October 4 - 20, 2002 at Gold Leaf's location at 110 N. Woodland Blvd., Deland, FL. The event entitled PHOTOGRAPHY: ART IN FOCUS will feature a number of nationally and internationally recognized photographers & digital artists. At the time of this release, fifteen artists had accepted invitations to exhibit their work with over half of them planning on attending the opening reception to be held on Friday, October 4, 2002 from 6:00 - 9:00pm at the gallery. The show will feature a broad range of photographic and digital art from all over the world including Belgium, Canada, England, France, Italy, Poland, and the United States.

One yet unannounced addition to the Expo is the silent auction which will take place opening night. Seven of the participating artists have each donated one of their works to this auction. 50% of the auction proceeds will be donated to the Photography section of the Arts Department at Deland High School in Pixiport's ongoing effort to not only promote the arts but offer educational opportunity as well. "Hopefully these funds will assist aspiring photo-artists in furthering their endeavors", stated Helyn Davenport, the creator of Pixiport and the Expo.

Featured artists include: Ciro Antinozzi, Fred Leavitt, Carol Tipping, Bob Snell, Shirley Cross, Judy Mandolf, Rene Amussen, Phil Artez, Greg Summers, Paul Biddle, Helyn Davenport, Patricia Lapatt, Michael Dubiner, Jeff Krewson, Scarlet James and Graham Z. Seildman

Helyn Davenport, founder and general manager of PixiPort Productions, has been working on assembling this show for several years. Said Davenport, "It finally came together this year when we struck an agreement with Gold Leaf Gallery to serve as the show's venue. The response from the artists has just been fabulous. We have even been told that there are media representatives from Europe planning on covering the event." Many of the artists invited to participate in the show are featured on www.pixiport.com. Gold Leaf Gallery & Framing will be the exclusive venue for the opening and the show during it's run and may continue to represent some of the artists on a continuing basis after the show closes. According to Blake Fincher of Gold Leaf, " We are extremely pleased to be selected by PixiPort to host this exciting event. We could never have gotten so many well-known and talented artists in our gallery for a single showing without PixiPort's influence. Gold Leaf has had numerous gallery shows, but this one will certainly give us international visibility."

This show will be the last gallery show this year at Gold Leaf Gallery & Framing. The schedule for next year has not yet been finalized but it will include the annual Luke Buck Show on February 7, 2003.
