About Infrared Photography

I have been using Infrared film for the past 15 years and five years ago was one of the pioneers in discovering how to capture infrared with a digital camera.
Infrared photography, whether you use film or digital, is unique in the realm of photographic mediums. Infrared moves beyond the world of the visible to capture and portray the invisible, thereby giving photographers a deep appreciation of the complex world around them.
Like life itself, infrared capture is unpredictable, as we cannot "see" the infrared spectrum.
The images captured can be dramatic, surreal and magical. Landscapes become dream-like or bizarre, portraits and nudes take on an ethereal beauty; skin becomes translucent and resembles porcelain.
To get the most from Infrared, you need three optimum conditions: Blue skies, full bright sunlight, and high temperatures, all of which makes the island of Bermuda a perfect place to work in Infrared.
I think that these infrared images capture the magic of Bermuda and sincerely hope that you feel the same.

Wedding snaps are no longer just snaps.
Actually for some time now The Wedding Photographer has been elevated into the `FineArt` genre and is among the very best of Photographers.
Wedding photography has become an Art form, which many have always suspected it was!
Not only a memory to keep for ever, some photographs are works of art in themselves and should be treasured as such
Popular Photography Magazine picked the 10 Best Wedding Photographers in the World last year

Escha van den Bogerd was born in The Hague in Holland, and started painting at the age of 3.
Later she attended the Rudolf Steiner school, a school with many art subjects including painting, drawing and art history. After leaving school Escha studied art in Florence, Italy, Salzburg, Austria and her home country Holland.
She is an artist of exceptional intensity whose dynamic and poetic abstraction faces and figurative display profound sensitivity and a great emotional power. Vital in attack and detail and brilliant in colour her energetically composed acrylic paintings radiate an aura of spirituality, which suggests the Middle East and Italian influences, although their formal characteristics are wholly in the contemporary European tradition.

The Woman Who Inspires Me

Fay was an extraordinary woman and photographer.
Starting in the 60`s she boldly went into landscape and saving the environment .
I personally became addicted to photography after I had been to one of her excellent workshops where she taught me to see. She came to most of my exhibitions and all ways encouraged me even when I went `digital` which later she too became interested in.
A staunch supporter of what she saw as right; the Land and Environment; and much, much more. She had excitement and energy for her craft and art and always kept her ability to want to learn and teach.
When I was in Rye we sometimes went for a cuppa tea, and when she had her huge retrospective at the Barbican in London she was surprised I was able to `stay up that late` for the opening.
In 2000 I had an exhibition at the Barbican, when I told her `but not like yours mine was tiny and near the toilet. `
`In the Toilet?`
`No Fay near the toilet`
She made me larf . I love her .
