This creation is both a personal statement regarding man's insensitivity towards the environment together with human intrusion into pristine nature. What once was a beautiful tree lined meadow becomes a two hundred-space parking lot with no trees or life, with absolutely no regard for the wildlife that was displaced, the habitat that was destroyed and the breed perhaps driven to extinction. The pollution that is sure to follow only further destroys any chance for wildlife both flora and fauna to survive, much less exist going forward.
The advancing concrete/asphalt world along with its' negative impact on nature is what I was attempting to capture. This work is one of my personal favorites and is really two images, one of an urban alley with all of its' pollutants and waste and the other an untouched forest in north central Florida. This image is my effort to convey in a surreal look using color, the selection of purple was to further capture the virus that looms and the ever-increasing human destruction.
